FitTalk puts a strength coach in your pocket — a NASM-style AI trainer that writes your workouts, plans your nutrition, checks every session against your limits, and adapts on the fly when life gets in the way. Built by Lenox Systems as a cross-platform mobile app for lifters who want real coaching, not just a logbook.
The problem
Most fitness apps are glorified spreadsheets. They’ll record that you benched 185 for five, but they won’t tell you what to do next, how to train around a cranky shoulder, or what to eat to actually grow. Real coaching — the kind that adjusts your program when you’re short on time, under-recovered, or stalling — runs a few hundred dollars a month and isn’t in most people’s budget. So most lifters guess, plateau, and quit.
What we built
FitTalk is a mobile app with a NASM-style coach built in — an LLM-powered trainer you can actually talk to, grounded in a real coaching knowledge base rather than left to improvise. Tell it your goals, your schedule, and the equipment you’ve got, and it builds a tailored workout and nutrition plan around them — checking each session against your injuries and limits so it trains around them, not through them. Short on time? Say “I’ve only got 30 minutes today” and it rewrites the workout on the spot.
Conversational AI coach Flagship
A NASM-style trainer you message like a person — grounded in a real coaching knowledge base, so it programs, explains, and adapts instead of guessing.
Tailored workout plans
Structured sessions built around your goals, schedule, and available equipment — and rewritten on demand when the day changes.
Nutrition planning
Macro and calorie targets matched to your training that update as your body and goals change.
Safety-aware programming
Built-in contraindication checks so the coach trains around your injuries and limits, not through them.
Recovery check-ins
Daily sleep and readiness inputs shape how hard the coach pushes you that day.
Progress tracking
Strength trends, workout adherence, body stats, and progress photos — with two-tap logging to keep it all current.
The stack
One app, two backends: a NestJS (Fastify) API handles accounts, workouts, nutrition, live sessions, and notifications, while a separate FastAPI service runs the AI — NASM-style coaching, plan generation, and performance analysis — using retrieval-augmented generation over a coaching knowledge base. Both share a Postgres + pgvector database, with Redis for caching and resilience.
The result
A coach in your pocket that does more than count reps — it programs, gives feedback, checks its own work for safety, and adapts like a trainer who actually knows you. FitTalk turns “what should I do today?” into a question that’s answered before you ask.
